My name is Andrew Sinclair and I am a creator. Growing up, I was highly encouraged to create. I built forts, dissected radios and electronics, only to put them back together. I sought out projects without instructions. To tangle in the creation of music from my mother the violinist, to understand schematics and formulas from my father the engineer, to understand nature and all of its intricacies and all of its chemistry from my brother the biologist, and to understand people and how to help them with their needs from my sister the humanitarian. I was created to create.
Through the years of working in the coffee world, I’ve been everything from a bar back, cashier, barista, manager, roaster, green sourcing manager and coffee consultant. I love to create and I see such an exponential potential to create more in the coffee world. It’s a world where the same recipes, brew techniques, roast profiles, brewers, service, and ideas haven’t changed in decades, and in some cases the last 100 years. That’s where I end and Mad Lab begins.
